Moby 'Britney Spears and Ke$ha songs aren't music'

Moby has revealed that he does not consider songs by the likes of Britney Spears and Ke$ha to be music.
According to Spinner, the singer-songwriter enjoys the popstars' recorded output, but believes that they should not be labelled "music".
"It's fun, but I don't think of it as music," Moby said. "It's manufactured. I appreciate it as a pop culture phenomenon and some of the songs I like if I hear them in a shopping mall or something, but it doesn't function as music for me."
The 45-year-old went on to describe what he considers to be true music.
"Music is something that communicates emotion and integrity in a really interesting, direct way," Moby said. "And when I listen to the pop music you're describing, it's hyper-produced corporate product. That isn't really even a criticism, but I just think calling it music is a misnomer."
The musician, who collaborated with Spears on her 2003 album In The Zone. recently described her as "broken", claiming that the singer's damaged nature is in fact part of her appeal.
Moby has previously suggested that Spears's breakdown was the result of her rise to fame at such an early age.
